This image was captured in Ecuador while on a mission trip. Early one morning I had taken photographs of some local children. Alicia was one of the children who began following me around. Originally this image was intended to be a simple compositional study of a banana tree trunk with a poignant green leaf dangling to one side. As I looked away to change film Alicia had unknowingly nestled her way into the composition. I didn't even notice her until I looked through the view finder. What a moment!, and I whispered 'un momento' in hopes that she would not move until I made an exposure and she didn't. This image was the first of three that I took of Alicia that day.
